Released by RadioShack in 1977–1978 under their house brand Realistic, the SCT-15 was a front-loading stereo cassette deck. It marked RadioShack's shift toward modern front-loading components featuring integrated-circuit Dolby noise reduction and chromium dioxide (CrO₂) tape compatibility.

As part of RadioShack’s mid-tier hi-fi lineup from the late 1970s, the SCT-15 represents an accessible era of analog audio engineering built for everyday home audio setups. In this model, rubber belts were replaced and the transport mechanism was re-lubricated.
