The Philips 22RH427 was a top-tier vintage hi-fi loudspeaker introduced around 1971–1972 as a successor to the bulky 22RH499 model. Produced in Europe until roughly 1974–1975, it cost about 430 DM per unit and served as the flagship of Philips' high-end 420 loudspeaker series.
 
Background and Design
Released in 1971, it followed the oversized, expensive 22RH499 to offer high fidelity in a standard living room.
It sat at the very top of Philips’ 1972 catalog generation, which included smaller siblings like the 22RH426 and 22RH423.
 
Technical Specifications
Drivers: Featured dual 8-inch woofers (AD 8065) alongside the same midrange and tweeter units used in the smaller 22RH426.
Production Run: Manufactured actively between 1972 and 1974 (with catalogues showing presence through 1975).
 
Current models were completely refurbished: cabinets were sanded and got a tinted oil coating. Also: new baffle fabric, replacement of filter capacitors and mounting of modern speaker terminals.
