The KEF Calinda (SP1053) is a classic floor-standing loudspeaker introduced by British manufacturer KEF in 1976.

Design and Technology

  • Total System Design: Released alongside the Corelli and Cantata, the Calinda was one of the first models to use KEF's computer-assisted "Total System Design" methodology.

  • Driver Configuration: It featured an 8-inch two-way system augmented by an auxiliary bass radiator (ABR) to improve low-frequency response.

  • Inverted Layout: The tweeter (T27) was positioned below the woofer (B200) rather than above it, an unconventional layout part of KEF's engineered acoustic integration.

  • Production Era: The speakers were typically manufactured and produced from 1976 through 1980.
