Very stylish Bang & Olufsen Beomaster 900M, essentially their first solid state stereo receiver, made in 1964. Designed by Henning Moldenhawer, the “M” designation meant it was specifically built to be paired with external speakers (unlike the 900K variaties, which had built-in speakers). The Beomaster 900 line is credited with revolutionizing B&O’s aesthetic. By adopting germanium transistors instead of traditional, heat-generating radio tubes, designers were no longer restricted by bulky casings. This allowed Moldenhawer to create the slim, elongated, and minimalist silhouette that became the company’s signature design philosophy. FM reception is in stereo, which was optioneel and required a FM card. Sound is warm and has built in loudness correction for lower volume playback. The unit was fully serviced and the teak casing is in very good condition.
