Released in 1979 by Technics (under parent company Panasonic), the SU-8044 (silver) and SU-8044K(dark brown/anthracite) formed part of the brand’s late-1970s wave of integrated DC amplifiers. It offered 38 watts per channel and modern fluorescent (FL) peak power meters instead of traditional analog needle VU indicators.

Direct-Coupled (DC) Circuitry: Built to minimize low-frequency phase shift and distortion by removing coupling capacitors from the signal path.

Aesthetic Variants: The standard SU-8044 featured a traditional brushed silver aluminum faceplate, while the SU-8044K came in a distinct dark brown/metallic charcoal finish.
